We are two designers working in a parity system: Joana Baptista Costa (Lisboa, 1982) and Mariana Leão (Paredes, 1981). We started working in our own atelier in the city of Porto in 2008, but since graduation (Caldas da Rainha 2000-2006) that we have have been sharing ideas and results with four hands and two heads. Our projects cover the design areas of graphic identity, editorial and exhibition, crossing the practice of atelier with research and design theory. As researchers/designers we have been invited to work on vast and different projects where we develop investigative and collaborative work from processes and survey of historical contexts/archives. We regularly participate in conferences, residencies and tutoring workshops.
