Propeller is a project by HÉLICE, a photography school composed of Duarte Amaral Netto, João Paulo Serafim, Rodrigo Tavarela Peixoto and Valter Ventura. The four make up the publication's Editorial Board, which was handed over to Sofia Silva to coordinate. Author photography is mixed with academic content, one of the objectives of the publication. For Sofia Silva, “the first objective is to create an author photography magazine, promote new work and take risks, think about different themes and take this risk of publishing new work”. In this number zero, the works of Sasha Kurmaz, Pedro Medeiros, Tânia Simões, Paula Rae Gibson, João Pedro Vale and Nuno Alexandre Ferreira, Bruna Prazeres, André Cepeda, Mané and António Júlio Duarte intersect with the texts of Marta Sicurella, Vítor Belanciano and Manuel José Damásio. In between, a conversation with Alfredo Jaar and a round table on pornography, aesthetics, ethics and feminism.
