The photographs contained in this photobook were taken during a brief trip to Rome, without a pre-defined script. Far from the time and geography of the journey, a small stone collected in the Coliseum literally becomes the touchstone for the choice and sequence of photographs in this photobook. Between the cover and the central page a time capsule is formed. A journey, a search that, from the Coliseum, spans different eras. Inside the book, alongside the image of a battle, a booklet contains the stone collected during the trip, photographed from seven different perspectives. At the end of the book, after the encounter with the Minotaur, an errata brings back questions about photographs of Rome - memory, identity, beauty, fragility, tourist invasion, search for the intangible - the simulacrum of the simulacrum.
