Souvenirs From Romania is the result of a one-month stay in Bucharest. This book brings together some memories of living in that city. Photographs, objects, think of Bucharest and its socio-cultural context. A city and society strongly marked by the recent past of a communist regime, oppressive and without space for thinking outside the state standards. Partly as a consequence, it is a conservative society, with a very strong religious dimension. On the other hand, there is an enormous need for change and a growing struggle for equality that manifests itself at different levels. The project is based on the idea of photography as memory and archive, thus relating to the definition of souvenir, as an object characteristic of a place that serves as a reminder.
