José Luís Neto was born in Sátão in 1966. Lives and works in Lisboa. He has developed a meticulous investigation into image appropriation; the language and nature of photography; the photographic matrix, its scale and its support; processes and devices of registering; describing in the tautology of his search, in which medium and end merge, a meta-language for photographic processes.
