Et le bleu du ciel dans l'ombre Manuela Marques reflects on the singular experience of the landscape that the artist was able to develop at the invitation of the Lodève museum. Rather than favoring large photographs with spectacular viewpoints – easily inspired by the Causses du Larzac or the surroundings of Lac du Salagou – she preferred to experiment with a more intimate and sensitive approach to the landscape. Observation, movement, and collection of elements (stones, wood, plants) are an integral part of the development of the work. The artist then integrated these collections into botanical plates of a new kind or into large photographic compositions where optical illusions, black mirrors and reflections create a new point of view: between the vision of a landscape and the imagination it arouses. She somehow reinvents a landscape through what intrinsically constitutes it; published in partnership with the museum of Lodève and the museum of La Roche-sur-Yon, color photos. Published on the occasion of the exhibition from January 12 to May 19, 2019 at the Lodève Museum, and from June 15 to September 21, 2019 at the Cyel Contemporary Art Room / La Roche-sur-Yon Museum.
