This edition consists of a publication accompanied by a DVD. O amor que purifica e Trotoário Azul are photo-novels made on the island of Madeira during the summers of 1969 and 1970. The story of "O amorq ue purifica" is a free adaptation of the cinematic drama "El Moustakbal el Moghoul". The artists, here actors, created a love photo-novel, alternating black and white photography and color moving images (dream moments). The films that gave rise to this publication were initially premiered at the Hotel Miramar, Funchal (August 1969) and at the Valentim de Carvalho cinema in Paço d'Arcos (January 1970). The films were also shown in Paris, for example at the Magic Circus (in March 1971) and at the homes of friends who were also artists, such as Jan Voss and Bernard Heidsieck, among other places. “Trotoário Azul” is an experimental, fragmented, and sometimes disjointed narrative divided into 21 parts and 43 episodes. The original image matrix is in black and white. Note: Trotoário is a popular Madeiran expression, a phonetic adaptation of the French term trottoir (stroll).
