Portobello uses a documentary approach to investigate the phenomenon of summer tourism and its associated iconographic imagery. It analyses (and questions) the concept of “place-brand”, based on marketing techniques, where space isn’t considered to be a place to live, but rather somewhere to experiment and consume during a few days. Portobello is an exotic territory, on the threshold of fiction, a simultaneously real and fabricated land - a kind of theme park anchored in a collective imagination built from stereotypes of contemporary capitalism.(source:https://ghost.pt/Portobello-1)
