All Beauty Must Die explores an idyllic ambience, mixing references from 19th century English literary romanticism and pop rock music. The title is a reference to the lyrics of Nick Cave’s Where the Wild Roses Grow, but also to John Keats’ Ode on Melancholy: “She dwells with Beauty – Beauty that must die”. The book gathers photographs made in summer music festivals and comments left by visitors to the exhibition All Beauty Must Die. Alluding to the world of fanzines, it establishes a dialogue between highly contrasted black and white images and anonymous love messages, political slogans, loose thoughts, quotes or testimonies.
