Under the Almost-Same Light is a book of images taken during a car journey between Sagres and Finisterre, made during one summer week, along both national and rural coastal roads. It is the prequel to another journey of three European ends of earth — Finisterre, Galicia, Finistère in Brittany and Land’s End in Cornwall — which led to the cd-book Terras Últimas, with music by Sandy Kilpatrick, published in 2010. As part of a road trip heading north, Under the Almost-Same Light can be seen as the Atlantic chapter of a long and peripherical itinerary, through the outer sides of Europe. The images in this book were made in medium format film. Its geographical alignment does not match the order in which they are presented: Leça, Rogil, Porto Covo, Sagres, Barão de São João, Vila do Bispo, Vimeiro, Setúbal, Vigo, Ericeira e Carballal (Finisterre).
